Qualico reserves the right to refuse or discontinue contracted employment of any parties should they fail to meet the safety requirements set out by Qualico, at the sole and exclusive discretion of the respective Regional Safety Manager.
Contractor Agreement
Within most regions, Qualico requires each contractor to complete a contractor safety agreement or safety pre-qualification package. As part of the National Safety Program, each agreement is designed to guarantee contractors are familiar with Qualico Health & Safety Policies, OH&S Act compliance, and recognize the requirements for identifying hazards, reducing accidents and putting in place processes to certify the health and safety of all workers and other persons on every worksite.
The contractor is responsible for all their sub-contractors and suppliers, even self-employed persons and must;
(i) have a responsibility for the health and safety of their personnel;
(ii) must report to and follow the requirements of the Prime Contractor and the Contractor;
(iii) must comply with their own HSE program;
(iv) must report any hazardous or unsafe Worksite conditions; and
(v) must cooperate with HSE authorities in accordance with the OH&S Act
(vi) must have valid workers compensation insurance coverage and be in good standing with WCB.
Subcontractors are not to be allowed on any Worksites unless a complete orientation, hazard inspection, and Qualico Safety Qualification Package have been completed by the Contractor. Work cannot commence until these requirements have been met. These procedures shall be followed for all members of the Contractor Group attending any Worksite, including for the purpose of delivery or materials.
